Hotel Gräpplang – The Hus am Weinberg is a wedding venue in Switzerland that doesn't see itself as such – and that's precisely why it is one.

No white ballroom, no standard décor, no itinerary that looks just like the last one. Instead: a charming hotel amidst its own vineyard, above Flums, with old timber, soft lighting and surroundings that complement the day without overwhelming it. For couples who know what they want – and who are looking for a place that reflects that.

Hotel Gräpplang and Restaurant Arva open their doors in autumn 2026. We'll announce the exact date as soon as it's confirmed. Of course, we're already taking bookings for 2027.

The place: a vineyard, a hotel and the ruins of a castle

Hotel Gräpplang lies on a hill above Flums, amidst its own vineyard, with views over the vines, the mountains and the valley below. The hotel itself has been lovingly restored, not renovated: natural materials, wooden floors that show signs of genuine wear and tear. Rooms that have character yet leave enough space for the day to take its own course.

Right next door: the ruins of Gräpplang Castle, a place of power that has kept watch over the hill for centuries and gives the place a history that needs no staging. Anyone getting married at Hotel Gräpplang isn't doing so against a backdrop, but in a place that speaks for itself.

What Gräpplang has in store for your wedding

Gräpplang provides the right setting for weddings in Switzerland that can be small and intimate without compromising on quality. The venue can accommodate up to 80 people.

The hotel can be booked exclusively, so the day is truly yours – with all 15 rooms and suites for your guests, the vineyard as an outdoor space and the castle ruins keeping quiet company in the background.

Restaurant Arva brings cuisine to your wedding that draws on its own garden and the Alpine region: seasonal, artisanal, with ingredients that have a provenance and producers who stand behind them by name. And for your wedding reception, a menu that suits the day because it suits the place.

How many guests can the venue accommodate?

For ceremonies and celebrations in a more intimate setting, including hotel accommodation for up to 30 people.
Larger weddings for up to 80 guests can also be held, although there are not as many rooms available.
Of course, you can also book the entire hotel exclusively.

Yes – if you'd like, you can book Hotel Gräpplang all to yourselves: all 15 rooms and suites and every space. That way, the day is truly yours.

Is there accommodation available for guests?

Hotel Gräpplang has 15 rooms and suites, each with a different layout and its own character. Your guests will sleep where the celebrations take place – and wake up to views of the vineyard and the mountains.

What about catering and food?

Restaurant Arva serves cuisine inspired by its own garden and the Alpine region – seasonal, artisanal, and made with ingredients that have a provenance.

We'll work with you to plan the meals and are happy to cater to your preferences. That's why we don't offer standardised set menus.

How can I get to Gräpplang?

Less than an hour from Zurich; the A3 motorway runs almost right up to the hotel’s doorstep. A limited number of parking spaces are available directly at the hotel; further parking spaces can be found below the vineyard, within easy walking distance.
