THE HUS. Institute for Imagination.

The System Change Foundation

Behind Gräpplang stands The System Change Foundation. It brings together people who want to think in new directions and shape the future together by making bold and forward-looking decisions. And it does so, amongst other places, at THE HUS.institute, an institute for imagination.

Thinking ahead together

The System Change Foundation was founded in Vaduz in 2016. At its core, it has one key objective: to drive long-term change in the economy and society. To this end, it creates spaces where ideas emerge and people take action by making decisions that consider the whole picture and are long-term in focus. For we believe that decisions give rise to actions which enable great strides towards a harmonious era between nature and its beings.

Change rarely begins with a loud clamour. It grows quietly, amidst conversations and thoughts, in spaces that exude trust whilst being underpinned by sincerity and creativity. But being loud does not necessarily mean making noise. When a vibration creates resonance, music is born, revealing the power of rhythm. We want to shape and discover this rhythm together. Nevertheless, we'll start with soft tones, so that we can experiment, explore and discover what nature and its beauty have to offer us.

Conversations that carry things forward

THE HUS.institute is such a space in a figurative sense; it is the foundation's think tank. It embodies the balance between creative exploration and structured action. A space where opposites are allowed to meet. Here, people from different disciplines and cultures come together to exchange ideas, discover new perspectives and jointly develop forward-looking approaches.

Once a year, the Foundation hosts the World Systemic Forum at the Hagerbach experimental tunnel in Flums – a unique venue also known as THE HUS.mountain. This is where visionary ideas take root. People from business, science, culture and other fields come together. Questions are asked, people listen and discuss.

We create spaces where potential can grow until it itself becomes new substance. In doing so, the existing substance should not stifle the new potential, but rather strengthen it in a spirit of curiosity and openness, and give it a voice. An environment rich in experience and opportunities meets fresh ideas and bold thoughts. That is why the World Systemic Forum does not see itself as a traditional conference, but as an open space for encounters and discussions on an equal footing.

Spaces for Ideas

THE HUS.estate creates living spaces for temporary use across different cultural contexts – similar to a hotel, but more personal and closer to nature. These places are designed as vibrant spaces for exchange, new ideas and encounters. Here, the values of The System Change Foundation become tangible in everyday life.

Alongside our own initiatives, we collaborate with our HUS.partners to develop projects that foster connection and drive change. Collaboration forms the foundation of our work. This creates an environment that encourages dialogue and allows new approaches to flourish.

Gräpplang is a place that brings people together

For us, Gräpplang is a place of power that has been inhabited since time immemorial. The special ‘Hus am Weinberg’ is closely linked to the foundation’s vision: a place that facilitates encounters, encourages exchange, and offers space for inspiration. A place that helps you slow down and remains open to new ideas.
